This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use this website or book our services, why we collect it, and what your rights are.

What we collect, and why

We collect personal data directly from you in two places on this site:

• The booking form: your name, email address, phone number, the postcode or area of the property, what kind of property it is, details of the door and lock, preferred installation date, and any notes you add. We ask for a postcode rather than a full address — we only need to know whether you are in our coverage area. We use this to provide a quote and carry out the installation you've requested — this is necessary to perform the contract between us (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
• Photos, if you choose to send them: images of your door and lock. These are entirely optional and the form works without them. We strip location data — including GPS coordinates recorded by your phone — from every photo as it is uploaded, store them under unguessable filenames, and delete them along with the enquiry they belong to.
• The contact form: your name, email address, and message. We use this to respond to your enquiry — this is in our legitimate interest of answering questions about our services (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)), which we've weighed against your right to privacy.

We also automatically receive standard technical data for every visit to this site — IP address, browser type, and pages viewed — via server logs and Cloudflare, our content delivery and security provider. This is necessary for the legitimate interest of keeping the site secure and working properly.

If you accept analytics cookies via the cookie banner, Google Analytics also collects anonymised usage data (pages visited, how you arrived at the site). This only happens with your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)) — see "Cookies" below.

How long we keep it

If your enquiry doesn't lead to a booking, we keep your contact details for 12 months from your last message, then delete them.

If you book an installation with us, we keep your booking and contact records for at least 6 years after the end of the tax year the work was completed in, in line with HMRC's record-keeping requirements for business transactions.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run this site and our business email. None of them are permitted to use your data for their own purposes:

• Cloudflare — content delivery and security for this website
• DigitalOcean — website hosting and storage for uploaded images
• Mailgun — sends and receives our business email
• Cloudflare Turnstile — a "prove you're not a bot" check on our forms
• Google Analytics — only if you accept analytics cookies

We do not sell your personal data to anyone, ever.

Cookies

This site uses essential cookies to make the booking form and site navigation work — these don't require consent under UK law. We also use optional analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand how the site is used, which only load if you click "Accept All" on the cookie banner. You can choose "Essential Only" to opt out of analytics at any time.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it
• Ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Ask us to delete your data (subject to our legal obligation to keep business records — see above)
• Object to how we use your data, or ask us to restrict it
• Ask for your data in a portable format

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time — for example, if we start using a new service provider. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest version.
